In this role, you’ll work closely with supervising physicians to deliver essential healthcare services, shape patient care plans, and provide critical support across a wide range of medical needs. Position Summary: Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting a supervising physician\'s data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.
Key Responsibilities
Provides a broad range of evaluation and treatment for Patients in the Regional Medical Facility. Inspects, completes, and analyzes records, assigns, reviews and updates classification, completes admission notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries and makes rounds on patients admitted. Takes Montford Regional Call to provide 24 hour WRMF phone call coverage 1 week at a time in rotation with Montford medical providers and physicians from other units. Refers patients to unit physician, medical specialist, or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs outside transfer call duty. This is typically 1 day per week during business hours. UM should obtain a bed for the potential transfer prior to the provider-to-provider call. Receives provider-to-provider sign out. Determines if the patient is appropriate to come to Montford and the level of care needed. Accepts patient in transfer if the patient is appropriate and there is a bed available. Consults with a Montford physician, if help is needed. Enters admission order set into EHR. Sends TTUHSC Outlook email to Montford provider group informing of the admission.
Qualifications
Graduation from a Physician Assistant\'s training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
OR
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.
