The Penn State University Police and Public Safety Department is responsible for protecting and serving over 100,000 students, employees, and visitors across 22 campuses in Pennsylvania. Act 120 Certified Police Officers

Protect life and property, maintain peace and order, and promote positive community engagement. Enforce laws, university policies, and regulations through patrol, education, inspection, and enforcement. Investigate and apprehend violators, and prosecute cases as needed. Qualifications:
Skills to promote respect for law enforcement and the university through courteous, ethical service. Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, and external agencies. Effective communication skills, honesty, and credibility in court testimonies. Customer service orientation, analytical skills, judgment, and ethical decision-making. Ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Respect for constitutional rights and high standards of conduct. Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, with up to one year of relevant experience. Current Act 120 certification or eligibility to obtain during the hiring process. Knowledge of information technology, surveillance, social media, and investigation tools is highly desirable. Additional Requirements:
Successful background investigation and BPAD evaluation. U.S. Citizenship, at least 21 years old, and successful completion of background checks, including criminal, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint checks. Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle records check. Successful credit history check. Please include a cover letter and resume with your application. Starting salary is $65,395.20 annually, with increases based on service and contract terms. The current contract expires June 30, 2028. About Us:
