Part Time Faculty Pool - Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Program

Seattle Colleges is seeking innovative and dedicated faculty members to teach part-time in the Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Program. Successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse college community and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff. The program includes courses such as construction training, blueprint reading, construction tools and materials, and construction job readiness. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in the field/trade and education and/or training in the field and/or teaching in the field. Responsibilities: Teach part-time in a wide range of on-site Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Program courses Evaluate and assess student work, submit grades, and participate in student and administrative evaluations Work collaboratively with others in a professional setting Requirements: At least three years of experience in the field/trade Education and/or training in the field and/or teaching in the field Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff from diverse backgrounds Application Procedures: Attach a resume outlining educational and teaching experience Submit a philosophy of teaching statement demonstrating a commitment to supporting diverse student learners Provide unofficial transcripts (graduate school only) Include a list of courses taught by college and year/quarter Attach a cover letter addressing how you meet the duties, responsibilities, and requirements for the position Provide contact information for three professional references Seattle Colleges is committed to equal opportunity for all students, employees, and applicants, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, age, hair texture or protective hairstyles, national origin, religion, creed, marital status, sex, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, gender expression, status as an honorably discharged veteran or disabled veteran or military status, or presence of any physical, sensory, or mental disability.
