Adjunct French Professor – Position Summary
The Foreign Language Department at Johnson County Community College invites applications for an adjunct French professor to teach Elementary and Intermediate French. The position is part‑time, with teaching hours ranging from 5 to 10 credit hours per semester. Instruction may be delivered in person, online via Zoom, or a hybrid schedule, depending on departmental needs.
Additional Responsibilities
Develop and implement co‑curricular French language opportunities for students.
Participate in departmental initiatives and on‑campus language promotion events.
Complete ACTFL or departmental training requirements.
Required Qualifications
M.A. degree in French.
Demonstrated ability to teach Elementary and Intermediate French courses.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in using technology in the classroom.
2 years of post‑secondary teaching experience or 4 years of high school teaching experience.
Experience teaching online using Zoom or a comparable platform.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of post‑secondary institutional climate.
Knowledge of ACTFL World‑Readiness Standards for Learning Languages.
Documentation from ACTFL (OPI) of advanced, mid, or higher proficiency in French.
HLC credentials and ability to teach Chinese, German, Japanese, or Spanish.
Ph.D. in French.
4 years of post‑secondary teaching experience.
