Position Summary The Foreign Language Department seeks an adjunct Spanish professor to teach elementary‑level Spanish. The position may be part‑time (5‑10 credit hours) or a substitute. Instruction will be in person and live online (Zoom) across semesters. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, participate in departmental initiatives, and serve in a range of student‑centered activities.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide extra and co‑curricular opportunities for Spanish language students
Participate in planning and administration of departmental initiatives
Participate in on‑campus events promoting languages
Complete ACTFL and other departmental training
Required Qualifications
M.A. degree in Spanish
Demonstrated ability to teach elementary and intermediate Spanish courses
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience using technology in the classroom
Experience teaching online via Zoom or similar platform
2 years teaching experience at the post‑secondary level or 4 years high‑school teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of post‑secondary institutional climate
Knowledge of ACTFL World‑Readiness Standards for Learning Languages
ACTFL OPI documentation of advanced mid or higher Spanish
HLC credentials for teaching other languages (Chinese, German, Japanese, French)
Ph.D. in Spanish
4 years teaching experience at the post‑secondary level

Unofficial transcripts required for all adjunct positions
