The starting salary is $66.00/hour, with rates potentially varying based on assignment type and the LHE formula. Representative Duties The successful applicant will teach a range of Addiction Paraprofessional Training courses, possibly at various campus sites, including day, evening, weekend classes, large classes, and online formats, utilizing multiple teaching methodologies. Responsibilities also include student recruitment, articulation of transfer programs, curriculum development and revision, and active participation in professional activities at the department, college, district, and discipline levels.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related professional experience, or
Associate’s degree with 6 years of related professional experience, or
The equivalent, which requires submission of an application for equivalence and supporting documents. Degrees must be from accredited institutions, and foreign degrees must be evaluated.
Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of students. Preferred degrees include Biological Sciences, Counseling, Health, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work.
Knowledge & Abilities
Effective collaboration with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
Curriculum development across modalities.
Participation in recruitment and articulation activities.
Effective communication skills.
Subject matter currency and student learning assessment.
Proficiency with computers and willingness to adopt new technologies.
Commitment to the mission of California community colleges.
