Veterans Inc. ***Veterans Inc., the largest provider of services to veterans and their families throughout New England, is looking for a professional, highly motivated, goal-oriented, skilled, and hardworking individual to fill the Employment and Training Specialist position and become a valued member of Veterans Inc. team!*** The Employment and Training Specialist is responsible for client assessments, career/employment training, counseling, advocacy, outreach for homeless/at-risk veterans, attending networking events and career fairs, and establishing/maintaining positive relationships with local employers. This individual would be based out of our Worcester, MA office, spending an average of 3 days per week performing outreach duties in Norfolk and Middlesex Counties. This is a full-time position with full benefits (health, dental, vision, 403B, paid time off, disability, life insurance, etc.). Veterans are highly encouraged to apply. Essential Functions Performs intake and assessments of veterans for acceptance into programs. Develops individualized service plans based on veterans' input and needs. Assists veterans with accessing services like VA benefits, employment training, educational support, housing, medical services, and other public benefits. Tracks and reports case management progress, coordinating with funding sources. Maintains documentation and compiles data for monthly reports. Conducts outreach to market programs and engage new referral sources. Understands DOL's HVRP functions and initiatives. Understands VA's VR&E functions and initiatives. Markets and recruits to community groups. Assists veterans in developing training plans and collaborates with employers and service agencies. Organizes job readiness workshops and develops support services like resume writing and interview skills. Provides information on retraining options for veterans. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to follow policies and demonstrate sensitivity to veterans' needs. Experience working with veterans. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy. Ability to market programs and work independently. Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office. Good attendance and punctuality. Experience managing others, data analysis, and report writing is a plus. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field. At least two years' experience in employment training, vocational rehab, outreach, or related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; certifications like A+, Network+ are beneficial but not required. Competencies Client focus, thoroughness, time management, communication skills. Mental and Physical Requirements Skills include reading, analysis, negotiation, problem-solving, and collaboration.
