Job Overview

Dental Hygiene Clinical Adjunct at Iowa Western Community College (Iowa). This position delivers all levels of the Dental Hygiene program, including classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction, curriculum development, student advising, recruitment, assessment, equipment management, adjunct faculty review, and budget oversight. Responsibilities

Demonstrate IWCC core mission, vision, and values. Follow the class schedule assigned by the Academic Dean. Prepare each class session and maintain the College Learning Management System (synchronizing syllabus, attendance, gradebook, and reports). Comply with all IWCC policies and procedures and directions from the Academic Dean. Promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs to retain students through graduation. Develop, revise, and assess course and program curricula and student learning outcomes each term. Collaborate with the department on assessment data and improvement plans. Participate in department, division, and college meetings. Organize and teach labs as assigned by the Academic Dean. Complete instructor training online and maintain one approved professional development activity each year. Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and contribute to a productive work environment. Complete additional duties as assigned, including class schedules, budget development, course and program evaluations, committee assignments, reports, and equipment needs. Enforce academic integrity and provide student conferences outside of class time. Help students achieve their educational and career goals, refer students to college resources, and maintain confidentiality per FERPA and Title IX. Implement ADA accommodations and other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Dental hygienist graduate of a Commission of Dental Accreditation program and possess an Associate’s degree or higher for clinical practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for small and large group settings and diverse groups. Strong computational ability, including mathematical calculations and statistical data analysis. Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, error-free final products, and time management. Exceptional customer service skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking. Enthusiastic and dedicated to helping others. Ability to function collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented team. Professional appearance, relationships, and responsiveness. Positive attitude and strict confidentiality at all times. Self-starter with little or no direct supervision. Pass a background check. Physical Demands

Normal office work. Light work (lift 10 lbs). Frequent extended periods of sitting and hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and basic office equipment. Regularly required to talk and hear. Location
