Work with minimal supervision and support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. Develop and promote a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for guests and providing outstanding guest service experiences. Ensure products are easy to see and buy, build sales through product and gaming knowledge, maintain a clean and organized store, and grow guest loyalty and repeat business. Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns, inform about promotions, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop. Support the store environment, including visual and operational elements and current sales initiatives. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including correct changes and receipts, while maintaining high service standards. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone and escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including reservations, trade-ins, and loyalty programs. Assist with setting guest service expectations, training associates, and ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provide feedback to the Store Manager on associate performance and ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Oversee onboarding, training, and compliance for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule associates to meet staffing and guest service levels; manage breaks and meals as required. Approve payroll and track paid time off and other time edits; ensure accurate compensation for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure timely shipping. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep products organized and properly labeled. Balance daily transactions in the POS system and manage closeout paperwork, cash, and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing. Maintain associate and guest safety and report injuries according to guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to staff in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (at least 6 months); retail sales/guest service or management experience preferred (at least 2 years). Video game knowledge preferred. Strong people skills with an outgoing, welcoming personality. Genuine, individualized guest assistance and clear communication (verbal and written); bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team. Reliability, trustworthiness, and sound judgment; able to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to operate a POS system and perform basic math and organizational tasks. Flexibility to work in a dynamic store environment and handle pressure effectively.
