Position Description: To identify and act upon opportunities for revenue, specifically Weddings, Corporate Events, Social Functions, and Private Events, from potential guests (networking), repeat guests, existing VIGs and restaurant guests. The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, maximizing occupancy, and impacting profitability at The Lempicka and Jeff Ruby’s Catering through professional outreach, efficiency, productivity, Guest Experience and High Touch. The Sales Manager is a pillar to the community and creates emotional connections and relationships through goodwill, volunteerism, and advocacy in the community. Work Performed: Responsible for generating new and repeat event bookings (60%) Prospecting, cold calls and reviewing upcoming and past demand generators in the market Solicit new guests and establish referrals through attendance at Networking & Professional Events Coordinate and attend Off-site Events as a representative of Jeff Ruby’s Catering & Events Hosting Networking Events Actively networking and promoting the brand within the community (40%) Coordinate with other managers to be a steward of the Guest Experience Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries for Events, through phone, email and CRM (currently Tripleseat) and complete the sales cycle Working knowledge of Tripleseat or similar sales-booking system Meet with Event Guests to discuss requirements for the event, such as number of guests, appropriate room, room set-up needs, menu choices and costs. Confers about other services such as decorations, flowers, photographer, audiovisual, music or other entertainment. Coordinates arrangements and ensure execution for all such aspects Draws up contract with guests covering all the agreed upon services and terms Develop and keep a line of communication with Managers, service staff and kitchen through effective use of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communication systems Identify and act upon opportunities for High Touches Sends out post event thank-you, gifts, etc. Prepare and analyze reports in regards to sales data Maintains knowledge of the local market, competition, and demand generators and presents Marketing opportunities Attend and participate in weekly Manager Meetings, and be knowledgeable of operations and culinary Be a brand ambassador, consistently exposing future guests to Jeff Ruby’s Catering & Events and building relationships with potential guests. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales Physical Requirements: Managers work a 50-hour work week, and will be present for greeting events on a regular basis. Ability to stand and walk during 8- to 10-hour shifts. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and wipe to perform essential job functions. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds and place items on high and low shelves. Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods. Professional image and demeanor. Required Skills: Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to deal with demanding situations and personalities. Highly skilled in Microsoft operating systems and required programs. Energetic, competitive, hardworking, and bring a strong work ethic and a good sense of responsibility. Ability to remain calm under pressure and unexpected occurrences. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required based on business demands, and for networking/Off-Site Events. Detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize. Required Experience: Proven sales track record, preferably growing a book of business from the ground up. Preferred hotel, hospitality or restaurant experience. Required Education:
