MGR, CATERING SALES - GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER
Pay Range:

Job Summary The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the overall event sales lifecycle of catering events at the location to meet and exceed established annual sales revenue goals. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and driven sales professional—able to collaborate with a range of stakeholders to plan and deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with location partner teams to jointly secure and maximize catering opportunities.
Create operating statements, reports, and operational budgets, and review the collection of receivables.
Develop catering activities, books, plans & directed functions.
Draft proposals, contracts and banquet event orders.
Prepare and monitor budgets, financial targets and forecasts.
Maintain local client database and vendors relationships.
Ensure all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with HACCP.
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
Proven track record for meeting sales goals.
Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and fine dining service points.
Minimum of two years in hospitality, including one year in catering sales.
Ability to assess client requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
Proficient in writing menu proposals with chefs.
Qualified to supervise food preparation, service, and clean-up.
Excellent quantitative, oral and written communication and problem‑solving skills.
Strong leadership and organizational skills; adaptable to constant change and detail oriented.
Advanced computer skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Calm under pressure and proactive mindset to anticipate business changes.
Highest personal integrity and ethical behavior.
Exceptional client relations and customer service abilities.
