Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 3306) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for guests and providing outstanding guest service experiences. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using POS, including handling changes, providing receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document written feedback in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts, covering policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates following guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll and manage paid time off and time edits; verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising per guidelines, and functioning fixtures/equipment. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, record variances, and communicate with management. Process defectives/ recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business/marketing/merchandising preferred. Retail management experience (6+ months) preferred; retail sales/guest service/management experience (2+ years) preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills & Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Genuine, individualized guest assistance; clear verbal/written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team or independently. Strong attendance, safety, and professional appearance standards. Ability to operate POS, perform basic math, and complete required paperwork accurately. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Problem solver; reliable and trustworthy; able to work alone and move/stand for extended periods; capable of light lifting up to 30 lbs.
