Position: Education Specialist – Youth Services, 13300 Bellefontaine Road, St. Louis, MO 63138 (Missouri Hills Campus,
St. Louis County ).
Salary: $2,023.00 – $2,495.51 semi-monthly (variable with shift and service time differential).
Employment Type: Full-time.
Seniority Level: Entry level.
Responsibilities
Implement group and individual education plans, plan class work and prepare learning materials.
Act as part of a teaching team; develop, implement, and evaluate individual education plans; confer with parents and students.
Adhere to State and Federal testing guidelines and mandates.
Prepare reports concerning each client’s adjustment and progress; maintain scholastic and attendance records.
Administer and score pre/post tests.
Provide Awareness Supervision to youth, ensuring their safety, conduct, care, education, and therapy.
Maintain security and intervene during emergencies, including physical restraints as required.
Dispense medications to youth.
Serve as a role model for appropriate behaviors.
Transport and escort youth during everyday and emergency situations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college/university, with a valid teaching certificate;
or
a Bachelor’s degree and ability to obtain a Missouri teaching certificate within ninety days of hire.
Four or more years of post‑baccalaureate special education teaching experience in an accredited school, with a valid special education teaching certificate;
or
a Master’s degree with two or more years of such experience and a valid certificate.
Valid Missouri driver’s license.
