Job Summary:

Medstar Health is seeking a Psychotherapist to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. The ideal candidate will be a licensed social worker or professional counselor capable of providing therapeutic interventions, making independent decisions aligned with clinical needs, department and hospital protocols, standards of care, policies, and procedures.

The Psychotherapist will utilize clinical skills and expertise for assessing and treating psychiatric and behavioral disorders. The role may involve seeing patients at various locations across the Baltimore region.

Primary Duties:

Achieve high clinical productivity and caseload; maintain a high percentage of billable clinical activity; plan treatment details at intake, obtain patient agreement, and document follow-up attempts. Close discharged cases promptly to open schedules for new patients.

Complete initial patient assessments within established guidelines; provide referrals as appropriate; serve as liaison to referral sources, outside agencies, third-party payors, and other parties while maintaining confidentiality. Develop and monitor treatment plans, participating as a treatment team member when appropriate.

Participate in managing aggressive patients to ensure safety; recognize early warning signs of escalating behaviors and intervene accordingly. Provide assessment, crisis intervention, case management, disposition services, and individual, group, and family therapies as appropriate.

Complete documentation relevant to activities, ensuring adherence to standards and data reporting requirements.

Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams; represent the department and hospital in community outreach; provide clinical educational and liaison services to other departments and facilities as directed.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.

At least 2 years of experience delivering clinical services to psychiatric populations.

Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

Minimum Qualifications This position has a hiring range of $60,632 - $107,494.
