Responsibilities

Our Med-Surg Physical Therapists fulfill the needs of patients, families, and the community by providing Physical Therapy services in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. They serve as the functional mobility and rehabilitation experts and are key stakeholders in patients’ functional recovery and interdisciplinary discharge planning. The Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 16-bed CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility located within GW Hospital and holds specialty accreditation in the areas of stroke and amputation. Our professional rehab staff work alongside other healthcare professionals to enhance patients’ functional recovery, facilitate successful discharges, and elevate patient care through unit and system-based quality initiatives, evidence-based research and practice, and true interdisciplinary care. Qualifications

ARU PT Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy Master’s degree in physical therapy preferred Experience in Inpatient Rehabilitation setting required Must have DC License before start of employment Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals by AHA or Red Cross Skills

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Effective interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities
