Field Service Engineer

The position is a government site within commuting distance of Fort Carson, Colorado. The selected team member will work on Fort Carson 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, supporting a unit equipped with new positioning, navigation, and timing technology. The candidate will work alongside soldiers, perform system checkouts for new equipment, and interact with Army Leaders and Technicians.
Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our Position, Navigation, and Timing Program. The team member must be open to learning new technologies and performing multiple roles related to these systems and the overall program. The ideal candidate will be committed, resourceful, and dedicated to providing service to military units, as well as transferring knowledge to soldiers. The position requires travel from Central Texas to unit locations across the U.S. and occasional overseas travel to support technical tasks, including inspecting equipment, loading software and firmware, and ensuring system functionality.
Responsibilities:
Respond to unit requirements for hardware, weapons, and stores maintenance and troubleshooting. Screen inoperable components to verify or eliminate faults. Apply electrical and mechanical principles to fault isolation, identify malfunctions, and restore operations. Provide technical support to Army maintainers and operators to increase their competency. Analyze, design, develop, test, and evaluate major systems and components. Review and prepare engineering analyses, reports, change proposals, and technical documentation. Support systems requirements analyses, provide design input, and assist in project engineering tasks. Assist with systems integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and resource management. Our commitment at Amentum:

Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, electronics, computer science, general engineering, or a related field. At least 5 years of project-related experience, including 1 year in development, testing, and evaluation of major systems. Valid U.S. passport through 2025 or longer. Active Secret US Government Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Preferred Qualifications:
