Senior Accounting Operations Specialist
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Senior Accounting Operations Specialist
to manage high-volume financial transactions and support accurate monthly closes. This role balances transactional accounting with process improvement and investigative analysis, helping ensure data integrity and operational efficiency across the finance team. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to $37/hr. Key Responsibilities: Process and reconcile daily financial transactions, returns, and cash receipts for sponsored accounts and departments Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, unidentified receipts, and wire inquiries Reconcile high-volume accounts and contribute to the accuracy of the monthly close process Monitor key financial metrics using dashboards and reporting tools Maintain audit-ready records and support internal and external audits Assist with special accounting projects, identify opportunities for workflow improvement, and support internal training initiatives Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field (or equivalent work experience) 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations Prior experience processing at least 150 invoices or transactions per day Proven experience in account reconciliations and financial close cycles Nice-to-Have Experience: Sponsored research audit or journal entry exposure Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP or similar software Required Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal) ProPivotal is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment regardless of race, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, color, religion, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, or any other protected factor.
