Overview
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on the Behavioral Urgent Response Team (BURT) is responsible for working with customer-owners in an inpatient setting who self-refer or are referred by a provider to assess and address immediate behavioral health and substance use needs, using a solution-focused, brief intervention model. This position has two levels: Behavioral Health Consultant I (BHC I) and Behavioral Health Consultant II (BHC II). Progression between levels is based on demonstrated competency and increased independence/autonomy. This position operates on a 4-10 schedule, covering 7 days per week, 8am-6pm, with either a Sunday-Wednesday or a Wednesday-Saturday shift. Locations

Assess and address immediate behavioral health and substance use needs for inpatient customers referred by self or providers. Provide solution-focused, brief interventions. Collaborate with team members to coordinate care and ensure timely support for urgent behavioral health needs. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Master’s degree in behavioral health field including Counseling, Psychology or Social Work; OR PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Obtain Alaska Clinical Licensure in designated field within four (4) years of hire. Additional Qualifications for Behavioral Health Consultant II : Meets all requirements of Behavioral Health Consultant I in addition to the following: At least Two (2) years of supervised clinical work experience for Master’s level behavioral health; OR two (2) years of post-graduate clinical experience for PhD or PsyD; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Behavioral Health Consultant I as SCF. Current Alaska Clinical Licensure in designated field. Native Preference : Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference. Employee Health Requirements : Compliance with our Employee Health procedure is a condition of SCF employment. You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment. Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position require documentation of immunizations prior to the first day of employment: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, and COVID-19.
