Overview Technical Consulting and Deployment Services Chief (Information Technology Supervisor II)

– Department of Transportation – Marysville, Yuba County, telework centric with regional oversight of district IT functions for Caltrans staff in Sacramento metro area and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities

Lead district IT supervisory unit – manage and supervise IT professionals ranging from IT Associate to IT Specialist I in PC/Customer support, equipment deployments, property inventory, procurements, application and audio‑visual support.

Oversee complex IT functions – conduct in‑depth system analysis, design and administration, systems integration, testing, maintenance and operations.

Develop and enforce standards, processes and procedures for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, operation and procurement of software deployment and support for a wide array of software technologies.

Ensure all standard district 03 IT procurements follow established processes and procedures.

Manage day‑to‑day IT operations – supervise staff responsible for all activities associated with the unit’s day‑to‑day IT operations.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for Information Technology Supervisor II (see Class Specification – eligibility, education, experience and certification requirements).

Demonstrated experience leading IT deployments, procurements and inventory, and establishing IT policies, standards, processes and procedures.

Experience in processing or reviewing IT procurements and understanding procurement detail work.

Strong leadership, communication and troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
