Job Overview

Software Developer – Information Technology Specialist I (JC-496769) – Department of Transportation, Caltrans. Salary: $6,513.00–$10,537.00 per month. Permanent, full‑time position located at 1500 5th Street, Sacramento. Hybrid telework is allowed. Responsibilities

Under the direction of the IT Supervisor II, serve as a developer/technical specialist supporting Caltrans application portfolio. Key duties include: Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain web and mobile applications across Linux, Windows IIS, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Java, .Net, Spring, Python, Objective‑C, C++, C#, Oracle, MySQL, and related technologies. Develop interfaces, web application configuration, reports, and other technical outputs. Participate in system analysis, documentation, and design of new specifications, processes, and procedures aligned with Caltrans standards. Contribute to project planning, status reporting, technical oversight, procurement, quality, and scope management. Apply SDLC, change and release management, and application maintenance best practices to ensure business continuity. Provide technical training and mentor junior staff. Minimum Requirements

Experience handling multiple high‑level projects simultaneously. Ability to evaluate technologies and identify integration opportunities. Expert knowledge in production operations.
