Overview
SAIC supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is 100% remote when not traveling and may require travel to other U.S. airports one week per month (subject to change).
Job Responsibilities
Provide support to Flight Data Input/Output (FDIO) Second Level Engineering.
Coordinate FDIO modifications.
Schedule outages and develop transition plans.
Read site drawings and install and validate hardware and software.
Develop and present briefings to stakeholders.
Cable fabrication and testing.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts/Science degree and 9+ years of experience (additional experience or degrees accepted).
Knowledge of air traffic systems in the en route and terminal domains.
Ability to communicate with various organizations within the FAA.
Experience integrating work efforts involving decision support systems.
Experience providing support and communications at operational field facilities during system upgrades.
Skilled in using MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with cable paths and protocols (serial, Ethernet, Fiber).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, using both technical and user‑friendly language.
Flexible, self‑motivated, and willing to multi‑task.
Detail‑oriented with strong research and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills for identifying and resolving issues to maximize system investments.
Required Clearance
US Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
