Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Travel Position
Location: Albany, NY
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12s Days
Pay: $2,728.80/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Albany, NY on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring, life support, and complex interventions. The ideal candidate has strong ICU experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Monitor and manage ventilators, infusion pumps, central lines, and other advanced life-support equipment.
Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Perform rapid assessments, respond to emergencies, and initiate life-saving interventions as needed.
Educate patients’ families about treatment plans, prognosis, and post-ICU care needs.
Maintain precise and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based ICU nursing practices.
Qualifications
Current and valid RN license in New York (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum 1–2 years of recent ICU nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); CCRN preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills in high-acuity critical care situations.
Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
