Position Details This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.
The Department of Computer Science at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions beginning in Fall 2026: (1) Assistant Professor and (2) Open-Rank Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor).
As TCU advances toward Carnegie R1 status, we seek colleagues who will strengthen our department's research profile while contributing to our tradition of teaching excellence and student mentorship. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability—or, at the senior level, the established record—to lead impactful scholarship, secure external funding, and actively mentor students at all levels.
While applicants from all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply, areas of particular interest include: Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Digital Twin technologies.
Qualifications Required
Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by August 17, 2026.
A strong commitment to excellence in both research and teaching, with enthusiasm for mentoring students at all levels.
Demonstrated potential to develop and sustain an externally funded research program.
Interest in contributing to departmental growth, including the planned M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Computer Science.
Preferred
Experience with proposal writing or evidence of external funding success.
Potential for national research recognition.
Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.
For Associate/Full Professor Level
Internationally recognized research record (sustained publications in top venues).
Evidence of external funding success (e.g., NSF, NIH, DOE, DoD), with potential for continued support.
Evidence of academic leadership (e.g., center direction, large-scale grants, mentoring junior faculty).
