Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Tomahawk, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide rapid, high-quality care to patients with urgent, emergent, and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate has strong emergency nursing experience, thrives in high-acuity, fast-paced settings, and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform rapid assessment, triage, and interventions for patients with emergent and critical conditions.
Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize and treat patients.
Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment.
Assist in trauma care, resuscitation efforts, and emergency procedures as required.
Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the medical record.
Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based emergency nursing practices.
Qualifications
Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
Minimum 1–2 years of recent ED nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); PALS and TNCC preferred.
Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills in high-pressure environments.
Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
