We’re looking for technical leaders ready to push the boundaries of computational modeling in medical device development. As a Staff Simulation Engineer, you’ll lead simulation strategy across the product lifecycle—from concept to post-market surveillance—developing procedures, standards, and biomechanical insights that directly inform innovation and patient outcomes. What You’ll Do: • Develop and manage simulation development rules, guidelines, and SOPs • Partner with product development teams to run iterative design simulations • Lead finite element and computational modeling projects aligned with ASME V&V40 and FDA simulation guidance • Oversee multiple simulation projects to meet concurrent R&D timelines • Collaborate closely with the Biomechanics Testing Team to align simulation and experimental validation • Build and maintain a reusable simulation library to capture learnings across programs • Author technical documentation for regulatory filings, marketing, and design verification • Stay current on emerging simulation technologies and integrate best practices • Establish yourself as a simulation thought leader within VB Spine • Maintain relevant professional certifications and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning What You Bring: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Computer Science • 4+ years of hands-on simulation experience (preferably in the medical device industry) • 4+ years using CAE software (ANSYS strongly preferred) • Deep understanding of ASME V&V40 and FDA simulation guidance • Strong project management and multi-tasking abilities • Excellent communication skills—able to translate technical concepts clearly • Strategic mindset with working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR) • Personal drive to innovate and influence product safety and efficacy Why VB Spine? Compensation: Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like qualifications and performance taken into account. The typical pay range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
