Job Summary
Oversees the warehouse, inventory, and Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking (PPP&M) operations. The PPP&M Manager will oversee the container reclamation, container fabrication, specialized container fabrication for custom builds and wood packaging material programs to ensure work is being conducted IAW all applicable contracts and procedures. Supervises PPP&M Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Lead, Shipping Packers, and Woodcraft workers.
Responsible for ensuring all PPP&M Contract Data Requirement List (CDRLs) are met IAW the contract and provide necessary reports. Reports to Site Management.
Essential Functions:
Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process. Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards, etc. Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals. Adhere to government, contract, and company policies and procedures. Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management and CGA regarding operations and policies at the Distribution Center. Maintain a safe and secure work environment. Directs employees engaged in conducting WMS activities such as determining the correct size packing needed based on the weight and cube tables, track work orders and report packaging information within the system and create PPP&M work orders. Provide technical guidance to employees on the interpretation, application and modification of preservation, packaging and packing matters, to include processing criteria, procedures, and techniques. Resolves complex problems connected with preservation, packaging, marking methods, specifications, or blocking and bracing a wide variety of military equipment and supplies. Ensure all Packaging and Packaging support Acceptable Performance Levels (APLs) outlined in the contract are met. Establishes packaging SOPs for employees to follow. Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work. Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract. Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS. Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, Storage Plan, and workload requirements. Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The employee may be required to frequently handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to position. Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies. Be able to perform work on hard or uneven surfaces. Qualifications Experience:
Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. Skilled in planning, controlling, executing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements. Skills:
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively read and write in English, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively. Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes, to include international shipping requirements, laws, and procedures. Certificate, License, Registration, etc.:
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required. Successful completion of WMS training, OSHA compliance, and associated DLA SOP. Completion of company mandated training applicable to position. Possess a valid Driver's License. Minimum high school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hazardous materiel storage and shipments. Military or DLA experience.
