The Product Engineer will perform design of product and process activities in support of new product development and product line sustainment for medium and high voltage switchgear products.
Responsibilities include:
Focusing on MV/HV Switchgear or similar components Creating, updating, and reviewing design content such as 3D models, 2D drawings, technical specifications, reliability calculations, multiphysics simulations, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, DFMA, and DVP&R Managing engineering changes and peer reviews Identifying Design to Value initiatives Reviewing customer specifications to evaluate design requirements Collaborating with quality and manufacturing teams for product sustainment and commercialization Providing technical support to Applications, Process, and Quality Engineering Assisting in product training activities, including internal and customer training events Traveling for off-site testing, marketing support, field reviews, or training Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field Master's degree in electrical engineering Experience with Solidworks and/or Autodesk Inventor Experience with simulation software like Ansys, Comsol, or Simulia Proficiency in 3D CAD drawing creation and manipulation At least 5 years of design experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to travel for business trips Ability to walk around the manufacturing floor and lift up to 50 pounds Additional preferred experience includes: Medium/high voltage switchgear engineering Experience with Altium PCB design software Experience with motor control and RTU communication Design of analog circuits Hubbell Incorporated is a leading global manufacturer of electrical and utility solutions, committed to sustainability, ethics, and diversity.
