Overview

Quality Engineer – Manufacturing | Full-Time. Express Employment is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Quality Engineer to support or lead key quality assurance and control initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role ensures that products and processes meet or exceed internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations for quality, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Compliance: Assist in or lead quality assurance/control programs that ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards; develop, maintain, and update quality policies, SOPs, standard work instructions, and in-process quality checks. Auditing & Inspection: Conduct in-process audits using standardized checklists and forms; perform random inspections and verify adherence to procedures and specifications. Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA): Track warranty claims and customer complaints; collect root cause data and lead corrective action efforts to resolve product defects and systemic issues. Continuous Improvement: Use data to identify process inefficiencies, reduce scrap and rework, and improve production yield; support or lead CI projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to address quality issues and implement process improvements. Data & Metrics: Analyze quality metrics including warranty trends and supplier performance; create dashboards or visual reports using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to track and communicate results. Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 3–5 years in a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Process Improvement role (5–7 years preferred for senior-level roles). Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans); familiarity with root cause tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone, or RCA; experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Power BI or Tableau a plus; knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing quality practices. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and train others on quality practices. Work Environment & Requirements

Ability to work on the manufacturing floor and inspect production as needed. Occasional travel may be required (~30%). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs for equipment inspection or testing purposes. Benefits
