Position Overview:

As a Traveling Float Pool Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), you will provide a range of services to engage, support, and coach parents, children, and youth within the child welfare system. This dynamic role requires flexibility, as you will rotate between multiple locations, offering support to sites experiencing high demand or in the process of being established. Your primary focus will be to build rapport with children and youth while implementing targeted interventions to enhance their well-being and stability during transitional periods.

This role requires

strong independent problem‑solving skills , as you will often be working autonomously in new or high‑need environments. Additionally, travel will be required

across our offices throughout Texas

or

assignments lasting on average between two weeks and one month within a designated region . Despite the travel demands,

QMHPs are still expected to bill a minimum of 30 hours per week .

This position will report to the

Float Pool Coordinator

and will have a designed Home Location (Dallas or Houston) in between Float Pool Assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a

representative of the WCG Team

at designated locations, particularly when launching new sites or providing additional staffing support.

Engage and collaborate with agencies, guardians, children, and youth within the child welfare system.

Build

strong, trusting relationships

with children and youth to promote their personal growth and functional development.

Deliver

goal‑directed interventions

aimed at stabilizing children and youth during transitions.

Maintain detailed,

accurate progress notes , ensuring completion within 24 hours of each session.

Provide a

comprehensive handoff and transition plan

to ensure continuity of care, ensuring assigned QMHPs and agencies remain fully informed.

Demonstrate

strong independent problem‑solving skills , adapting to new environments, caseloads, and agency structures with minimal supervision.

Travel within the assigned region for periods of

2 weeks to 1 month per assignment , ensuring seamless support and transition assistance.

Maintain

consistent productivity , billing

30–40 hours per week

despite varying locations and travel commitments.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3‑5 years of experience as a QMHP.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree

in a relevant field, including:

Social Work

Nursing

Rehabilitation

Counseling

Human Growth and Development

Physician Assistant Studies

Gerontology

Special Education

Educational Psychology

Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Intervention

Certification in the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS)

or the

Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA)

(must be updated annually).

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Strong

communication and interpersonal skills .

Ability to work independently and problem‑solve effectively

in varied and sometimes challenging environments.

Completion of a

standardized training curriculum.

Licensure (if applicable)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
