Ford Field Service Technician
Location: Irving, TX 75062
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience and certifications and a

We are seeking a Ford Field Service Technician to provide expert repair and maintenance support directly at customer sites. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and completing repairs using advanced diagnostic equipment. The position requires technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver quality service while representing the dealership in the field.
Responsibilities
Deliver professional service and support during on-site visits
Diagnose vehicle concerns, perform inspections, and complete repairs efficiently
Use computerized diagnostic tools to evaluate and resolve issues
Handle light and medium-duty repairs, including:
Brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC
Suspension, drivetrain, and steering components
Gas and diesel engines
Transmission and transaxle systems
Prepare work orders and submit detailed service documentation
Identify warranty concerns, maintenance needs, and product upgrade opportunities
Work with management and other technicians to resolve complex repairs
Provide customer education or training on vehicle systems when necessary
Follow dealership safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Maintain an efficiency level of at least 85%
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an automotive or medium-duty repair setting
Skilled in one or more of the following areas: Automobile (A1–9), Medium/Heavy Truck (T1–8), School Bus (S1–7), or Transit Bus (H1–8)
Eligible to obtain a CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements
ASE certifications or ability to successfully pass exams
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability
Effective communication and customer service skills
Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Regular kneeling, squatting, crawling, and climbing required
Manual dexterity to handle tools and vehicle components
Ability to maintain a valid CDL, including passing DOT medical and driving requirements
