Facility: Kootenai Clinic Department: Kootenai Clinic - Hospital Medicine Phy Nurse Practitioner Position Summary: Works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of patient’s medical type. Responsibilities Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Typically reports to a physician Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications MSN degree or higher from an accredited nurse practitioner program required Nationally recognized as a Nurse Practitioner Clinical experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified Holds a current NP and RN license to practice in the state of Idaho required BLS required Position Summary Assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination Performs a variety of tasks A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required Typically reports to a physician Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Health Science required Physician's Assistant Certificate of Registration with the Idaho Medical Board or is certification eligible, and is certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required Qualified under the rules of the DEA for prescriptive practices required Qualified under CMS regulations for patient care and billing practices required BLS required About Kootenai Health Kootenai Health is a highly esteemed health care organization, serving patients throughout northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.
