Night Shift, 7pm-7am, self-scheduling with rotating weekends

IV (4 trauma center but we practice as a Level III due to our neurosurgeries; 24/7 neurosurgeon on call)

The 23-bed Emergency Department of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway is equipped to treat critical and life-threatening conditions in patients of all ages. The department uses a multidisciplinary team to provide access to specialists in a full range of care to ensure quality medical care when it is needed most.

CalmerKids Certified for pediatric patient experience

Specialty physicians on call 24 hours a day (general and vascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, internal medicine)

24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray and surgical services

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. The RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by helping them transition through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.

RN duties apply to hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24x7 staffing, including departments with on-call off shifts. Examples include GI Lab, Pain Management, Dialysis, Infusion Centers and IV Services.

Conducts accurate clinical assessments, prioritizes patient and family needs, develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care, and adapts care to achieve outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program

Major: Nursing

Experience: 2 Years of Experience

Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN); Basic Life Support (BLS) required (BLS at hire/transfer or within 30 days)
