The Division of Comprehensive Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Stanford University seeks a board‑eligible or board‑certified neurologist to join the Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The candidate will have an MD degree or equivalent, be ABPN board‑eligible or board‑certified, and be eligible for a California medical license. Fellowship training is desired but not required. The position requires competence in managing a broad array of neurological conditions and caring for patients with complex or multiple neurological disorders, and includes an interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care for general neurology patients
Teach medical students, residents, and clinical fellows
Work in Stanford Health Care hospital and clinics in Palo Alto and South Bay, depending on clinic needs
Participate in research, quality improvement, and development of innovative care programs
Outpatient role with no overnight or weekend call
Qualifications
MD degree or equivalent
Board‑certified or board‑eligible ABPN neurologist
California medical license (must have or obtain)
Commitment to teaching students, residents, and fellows
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments and disciplines
Additional experience in general neurology desired (fellowship training preferred but not required)
Subspecialty interests considered depending on clinical needs

Pay Range
Clinical Assistant Professor: $251,000 - $269,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $280,000 - $298,000
Clinical Professor: $326,000 - $338,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
