We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in construction accounting and ERP management to oversee all financial operations and manage our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends strategic financial management with system ownership. The ideal candidate will not only ensure the integrity of our financial processes but also ensure successful implementation and functioning of our ERP across our operations, accounting, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, job cost, and WIP reporting.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Develop and maintain financial controls, cost accounting practices, and forecasting models.
Support executive management in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction‑specific regulatory standards.
ERP Management
Contribute to further integration, implementation, and configuration of ERP modules (Financials, Job Cost, Payroll, Project Management, Equipment).
Partner with consultants and internal stakeholders to align system design with company workflows.
Develop internal process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Train and support accounting, project management, and field teams on construction accounting procedures.
Continuously improve system performance, reporting accuracy, and user adoption post go‑live.
Act as the primary liaison between internal users and ERP support.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management required. CPA or MBA is a plus.
Minimum 7–10 years in construction accounting or controller-level financial management, ideally in heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
2+ years’ experience implementing or administering CMiC, Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or another construction ERP. Experience with CMiC is a plus.
Strong proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and ERP reporting tools.
Familiarity with SQL, ERP reporting, and integration workflows a plus.
Strong project management and communication abilities.
Capable of leading cross‑department collaboration and change management.
Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution capability.
