Job Description And Duties
Individuals who are eligible for Training and Development assignment(s) may also be considered for this position. Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction Post-Secondary Programs (SAI), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) has the responsibility to perform a broad and ever-changing spectrum of the more complex technical, professional tasks required to assist the SAI or their designees with complex and sensitive work in the design, implementation and administration of any and all the Post-Secondary Education Programs as they now exist or as they may evolve. This includes: technical and analytical assignments such as program evaluation and planning, policy analysis and formulation, systems development, planning, management, and personnel analysis; leading or assisting in the creation and maintenance of reporting spreadsheets and data collection concerning program expenditures and performance; and the preparation of summary and statistical reports.
This position will also assist the SAI or their designees in overall program coordination, memorandum of understandings (MOU), interagency agreements (IAA) and performance improvement activities of all Post-Secondary Education programs. In addition, the AGPA will be responsible for research analysis, evaluating, tracking, and coordinating statewide correctional education program, legislative bill analysis and other related tasks.
The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitations (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is a user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application’s progress. Working Conditions San Quentin Rehab Center is California’s oldest and best-known correctional institution, which was established on the site currently known as Point San Quentin, in July of 1852, as an answer to the rampant lawlessness in California at the time. The prison rests overlooking the bay on 432 acres and is located just 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the county of Marin. The walled prison is made up of four (4) large cell blocks (West, South, North, and East Block), one (1) maximum security cell block (the Adjustment Center), Central Health Care Service Building, a medium security dorm setting and a minimum-security firehouse.
