Principal Member of Technical Staff (IC4) Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) delivers mission‑critical applications for top enterprises worldwide, operating in more than 50 regions. OCI is expanding beyond the public cloud into dedicated, hybrid, multi‑cloud, and edge deployments. Within OCI, the Technical Strategy & Oversight (TSO) organization builds foundational systems and frameworks that power our most demanding tier‑one services. With Autonomnous OCI, we are redesigning the kernel and runtime of the cloud itself to enable faster time‑to‑market, higher margins, and a durable competitive edge.

Responsibilities

Help build the Light‑weight Infrastructure—our next‑generation runtime for compute, networking, storage, telemetry, and governance—at the core of Autonomous OCI.

Dive deep into complex systems, design and develop components of core services, and collaborate across teams to improve scale, resilience, and simplicity.

Work directly with architects to ensure new capabilities are built with the right design principles.

Participate in design reviews, operations, hiring, and mentoring, playing a leadership role in shaping the next generation of the OCI Service Platform.

Qualifications

6‑10+ years of relevant engineering experience in distributed systems and cloud services.

Expertise in software development, with experience in languages such as Java or Golang.

Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience in Cloud Compute, Virtualization, Orchestration, Cloud‑based Storage Systems, or Cloud Networking.

Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across teams.

Cloud development experience on one of the major cloud infrastructures (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and scalable, reliable workflows is a plus.

Benefits

Us salary range: $96,800 – $223,400 per year (may be eligible for bonus and equity). Eligible for U.S. applicants only.
