Enterprise Systems Engineer (ESE)
Enterprise Systems Engineers (ESEs) provide advanced knowledge and expertise to engineer and support systems necessary for Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) information technology infrastructure, systems, and software through systems programming, database administration, systems administration, storage administration, and facilities and data center management environments. This position assumes a leadership role for strategic IT planning and is responsible for leading various complex projects impacting ATC and serving as an integral part of the change management process.
Responsibilities
Facilitating collaboration between ATC and subject‑matter experts in gathering technical requirements for enterprise system implementation.
Documenting vendor requirements, security risks, and system interoperability within the enterprise environment.
Participating in the conceptual design phase of application development hosting and clarifying departmental needs, security, and technical problems.
Performing enterprise infrastructure hosting utilizing industry best practices and methodologies.
Leading multiple projects simultaneously that result in the implementation of enterprise information technologies and infrastructure that could be countywide.
Overseeing and administering maintenance, installation, and upgrade of datacenter environmental management/automation systems and hardware.
Implementing, monitoring, and testing disaster preparedness and recovery systems.
Performing in a project‑management capacity for multiple projects.
Performing in a system‑architecture capacity for all infrastructure on‑premise and cloud.
Qualifications Experience:
Four years (4) of full‑time equivalent hands‑on experience in an enterprise systems management environment, architecting, engineering, and integrating solutions. Qualifying experience must include implementation of systems in a large organization setting with at least four (4) of the following technologies:
Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Database Platforms (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, etc.)
Microsoft Enterprise Platforms (AD, O365, etc.)
Enterprise Storage SAN/NAS
Enterprise Content Management (Web, Document, etc.), Enterprise GIS platform
Enterprise Virtualization Platform (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.)
Enterprise OS Platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.)
Cisco Network (Switch, Route, Firewalls)
Education:
Sixty (60) semester (90 quarter) units of completed college‑level courses in programming, computer science, software engineering, or a related field. One additional year of qualifying work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
