RN Emergency PRN Nights – Alaska Regional Hospital Join us as an RN in the Emergency Department on a PRN basis, providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care during night shifts. This role is part of HCA Healthcare’s nationwide network of hospitals and offers a compelling benefits package.

Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality care in accordance with the department’s specific requirements and the scope of practice for the state of Alaska. The RN collaborates with medical providers and other members of the team, advocates for patients and families, and models the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.

Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document administration of care in the patient record promptly and thoroughly.

Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them proactively.

Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and possible side effects, translating complex terminology for full understanding.

Educate on non‑medicinal follow‑up care, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare families for future self‑management.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse in the state of Alaska.

Associate Degree (or equivalent).

BLS or BCLS certification.

ALS or ACLS certification.

PALS certification.

Emergency Nursing Pediatric (ENPC).

TNCC certification.

NRP (optional).
