Position Details
The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Sykes College of Business at the University of Tampa seeks candidates for an Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Entrepreneurship to start August 2026. The successful candidate will teach 12 hours per semester (3–4‑hour courses) of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance. Candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching. Experience and expertise in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance is preferred.
The Sykes College of Business offers five academic programs in entrepreneurship, including a major in entrepreneurship, a major in international business and entrepreneurship, a minor in entrepreneurship, an MS in entrepreneurship, and an MBA concentration in entrepreneurship. It was ranked No. 27 in the U.S. for learning and No. 34 for entrepreneurship in the Bloomberg Businessweek Best Business School 2025‑2026 listing, and its entrepreneurship programs have consistently earned top national rankings.
The successful candidate will also collaborate with students in co‑curricular programs at the John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center—a 25,000‑plus square‑foot, state‑of‑the‑art space supporting experiential entrepreneurship education. In addition to teaching, the faculty will engage students through activities such as the CREATE business‑plan competition, the Spartan Accelerator, the UT Entrepreneurs Club, and the Spartan Incubator.
Responsibilities
Teach 12 credits per semester in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance courses.
Develop, design, and deliver course content, assessments, and instructional materials.
Engage students in experiential learning opportunities at the John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center.
Qualifications
A doctorate from an AACSB‑accredited university is preferred.
A master’s degree with at least 18 hours of coursework in entrepreneurship or a related field is required.
At least five (5) years of experience as an entrepreneur or in entrepreneurial finance is preferred.
