Compassionately facilitate funeral arrangement discussions with deceased next of kin and preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services in accordance with family wishes and all applicable laws. Act as the licensed Funeral Director responsible for compliance with all mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations within the funeral establishment. Receive or initiate calls to deceased next of kin, obtain contact information, discuss needs, schedule arrangement appointments, and email confirmations. Perform removals or transfers adhering to company standards, caring for the deceased respectfully, and update removal status in proprietary software. Greets next of kin, escorts to meeting space, and facilitates Arrangement Conference, summarizing desired outcomes and discussing available life insurance, benefits, and merchandise options. Transition Arrangement Conference to Funeral Services Counselor/Advisor, present cemetery property and merchandise options, pricing, and contract completion. May perform FSA/FSC responsibilities if applicable. Review and authorize merchandise and service contract revisions. Directing Services

Preside as Master of Ceremonies for visitation, funeral, or graveside services in a professional, organized, caring manner. Ensure participation at graveside services per purchase agreement and remove personal belongings from the deceased before burial. Visually inspect deceased, adjust casket dressing and attire, and communicate concerns to preparation staff. Inspect services arrangements for contract compliance, initiate corrective actions, and guide the services team. Interact with family to fulfill death‑care requests and obtain leads for pre‑need services. Event Planning

Plan and order music, flowers, catering, and other resources to fulfill arrangement requests. Produce memorial products, scan photos, create electronic presentations, write obituaries, and maintain online memorials. Prepare the event room, post‑event cleanup, and manage storage of items. Perform attendant duties such as parking lot attendant, driver, usher, pallbearer, or courier as needed. Represent the location at community or charity events to promote the business. General Duties

Work under general guidance while applying licensure to a compliant business environment. Peer review for accuracy, quality, and education; collaborate with peers or manager for assistance. Exhibit accountability for behaviors and ensure compliance with all regulations. Take initiative in discussing assignments and priorities, seek guidance, and notify manager of workload. Minimum Requirements

Education & Licenses

Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science. Current Funeral Director license in the practicing state. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for company vehicles. Experience

Industry experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient in MS Office. Work Conditions

Indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather. Professional business attire required when in contact with families. Frequent sitting or standing for up to 6 hours per day; climbing stairs. Manual dexterity required; tasks include paperwork and computer use. Ability to push/pull 150 pounds on flat and inclined surfaces.
