Preferred Qualifications
Experience in technical theater
Experience in theater production or stage management preferred
Experience in set construction and costuming
Strong organizational and communication skills
Conflict management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment
Flexible schedule to accommodate rehearsals, performances, and possibly weekends
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate lighting and computer systems, and lift or move up to 25 pounds
Must be comfortable working evenings or weekends
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in all aspects of theater productions, including planning, rehearsal scheduling, and execution of live performances for Peninsula School District and community groups
Manage backstage operations, ensuring props, costumes, and set pieces are prepared and organized for each performance
Support lighting, sound, and other technical aspects of productions
Assist in directing student performances, providing feedback, and helping students with lines, blocking, and character development
Supervise student auditorium technicians and track technician work hours
Support the use of theater spaces by community groups, providing technical assistance on site and ensuring space readiness for community performances
Working Conditions
Frequent interruptions; requires flexibility due to shifting between planning, training, student engagement, and event execution
May be required to troubleshoot in high‑pressure situations such as live performances
Collaboration with students, staff, and community partners is ongoing and dynamic
Production timelines will be determined prior to rehearsal starts
Required Prior to Starting Work: Unless you have been fingerprinted in a school district within the last two years, you will be required to have fingerprinting done. The Olympic ESD 114 (360.478.6881) in Bremerton offers digital live‑scan fingerprinting services by appointment for a fee of $83.00.
