Instructor, Artificial Intelligence (Associates) – Adjunct Pool Serve as an adjunct instructor in the Houston Community College Westchester Center, teaching AI, machine learning, and related courses. Provide expertise to support curriculum, design courses, teach students using diverse methodologies, and engage in academic advising, professional development, and community service.

SUMMARY Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs. Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching:

Demonstrate skill and/or knowledge in teaching discipline; improve quality of instruction through innovative methods; develop and use a syllabus; evaluate students and keep accurate records; teach courses across modalities including face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online; support technology use.

Academic Advising:

Maintain relationships with students, provide open office hours, offer guidance on academic and career matters, and assist with program‑specific issues.

Professional Development:

Establish annual growth objectives, stay updated in the field, learn new technologies, and participate in evaluation processes.

Institutional and Community Service:

Collaborate with department and college activities, support ABET accreditation, assist in conferences, workshops, outreach, and participate in meetings and committees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associate’s degree in a STEM field such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other science major required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of industrial experience in Networking, Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, AI/ML, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of C++, Python, Java, Objective‑C, Swift, cloud computing, reverse engineering, and network security.

Personal Attributes:

Ability to work in diverse environment, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, sensitivity to student diversity, ability to motivate students, self‑disciplined.
