General Duties and Responsibilities

Install low voltage copper and fiber optic cabling.

Terminate, test copper and fiber cabling systems using certified test equipment.

Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.

Repair and install network‑enabled systems such as CCTV, Access Control, AV Control Systems, Central Sound, Video Management Servers, Projectors, Screens, Interactive Displays, etc.

Assist in keeping building common and technology spaces neat, orderly and safe.

Accomplish work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, national and local codes and industry standards such as TIA and BICSI.

Update as‑built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.

Attend toolbox safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention and ethics.

Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification.

Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED required.

Knowledge of the low voltage integration or ICT industry.

BICSI and/or AVIXA certification desirable but not required.

Valid driver’s license.

Language Skills Must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers and employees.

Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights, and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment features outdoors, wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high precarious places, dust, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and exposure to strong sunlight and extreme weather.
