Description The A's seek a Minor League Certified Athletic Trainer for our Spring Training Facility in Mesa, AZ. The role reports to the Minor League Medical Coordinator and works with the Arizona-based Medical Staff to manage player healthcare, including on-field coverage, prevention, maintenance, evaluation, and treatment programs. Responsibilities focus on Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, the Arizona Complex League Rookie Team, and Minor League Players on Rehab Assignment.
Responsibilities
Provide on-field coverage, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation techniques for various injuries.
Daily communication with respective medical, performance, and coaching staff.
Documentation and recordkeeping using the electronic medical records system (EMR).
Assist with and ensure adherence to daily maintenance and treatment programs for all players.
Perform various administrative duties as assigned.
Adhere to and monitor Health & Safety Protocols per MLB and the Club.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATABOC) certified and in good standing.
Eligible to meet state licensure requirements.
CPR/AED certification.
Strong communication and computer skills.
Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in on-field practices and games for extended periods.
Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities and accompany players during practices and games.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Experience working with players from diverse backgrounds and cultures is preferred.
Prior experience in professional baseball is preferred.
