- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Opportunity to advance to TL119 after two years of satisfactory performance. TL119 (based on certifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business and two years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred Experience:
- Computerized accounting and/or fund accounting.
- Familiarity with the entire accounting cycle.
- Proficiency in performing accounting functions using computer systems. Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with ten-key and other office equipment.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
- Ability to read and comprehend financial documents and reports (preferred). Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain records of accounts receivable and payable transactions.
- Reconcile, balance, and investigate general ledger accounts.
- Prepare necessary journal entries and handle payables, receivables, and cash disbursement entries for account reconciliation.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including maintaining balances, determining depreciation rates, and monitoring inventory levels.
- Manage financial data maintenance for all revenue sources.
- Prepare periodic billings for customer services as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate bank deposits.
- Submit monthly bank reconciliations for review.
- Provide technical assistance regarding accounting procedures to service users.
- Reconcile Tribal fixed assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Controls:
- Work under the supervision of the Accounting Operations Supervisor with a degree of independence.
- Deadlines, objectives, expectations, and priorities are established by the supervisor.
