Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy, Health Sciences Center, the Director of Philanthropy, School of Dentistry will play a key role
individually and collectively
in cultivating long-term relationships with donors who have the capacity to make transformative gifts, while leveraging the relationships and vision of university leaders to secure support for strategic university priorities and initiatives. The Director will provide creative and visionary leadership and coordination of fundraising endeavors for university-wide programs. They will convene campus partners and advise on the development of coordinated strategies aimed to maximize the lifetime engagement and support of a portfolio of high-net-worth prospects. They will help assemble key university members together with prospects around strategic funding priorities.

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD) enjoys a rich heritage in dental education and a reputation for clinical excellence that reaches back to the 1800s. The school excels in offering hands-on, high-tech, community-focused experiences that develop tomorrow's leaders in oral health care while addressing issues related to oral health access. More than 100,000 patient visits occur each year at the Dental School. Under the leadership of the School's Community Dental Health program, its faculty, staff, and students provide millions of dollars of dental services to the underserved each year and participate in a myriad of initiatives to promote oral health. The Dental School is also a leader in oral and craniofacial research with world-class faculty members recognized for their contributions to advancing the disciplines that complement the profession. ULSD has top researchers in areas including craniofacial developmental biology, microbiology/immunology, pharmacology/toxicology, maxillofacial radiology, and dental materials.
A bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience are required for this position. Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience as a fundraising leader in a complex, decentralized, comprehensive university environment, an advanced degree, and/or a professional fundraising certification are preferred.
