Job Summary An inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the overall success of daily kitchen operations including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The Executive Chef will showcase culinary talents through the delivery of high‑quality food through personal involvement in task performance while developing and empowering the onsite staff. The role demands continuous improvement of resident, employee and client satisfaction while maximizing financial performance in all areas of responsibility, ensuring monthly budget, food and labor costs are met and safe food handling is maintained in accordance with safety & sanitation protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily culinary production, ensuring food quality and presentation meet standards, with compliance to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.

Determine food presentation, create decorative displays, and develop distinctive specials that incorporate seasonal or special ingredients.

Provide direction on menu development based on product availability and local flavors.

Seek out fresh ingredients, monitor produce and meat for freshness, and maintain product consistency through inspections.

Research customer preferences, develop menus, prepare and cook foods, and demonstrate new techniques and equipment to staff.

Supervise and coordinate cooks and workers, provide guidance, set performance standards, and monitor performance.

Communicate safety procedures, Detail procedure codes, ensure employee understanding, monitor safety practices, and enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards; manage department expenses including food cost, supplies, uniforms, and equipment.

Develop and implement purchasing and receiving procedures, analyze financial and operational data, adjust business plans, labor requirements, and operating costs.

Develop, implement, and manage the department’s budget; continually analyze, forecast, monitor, and control labor and food costs to meet or exceed objectives.

Identify revenue and expense opportunities, control costs, monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses, and oversee food inventory and disbursement.

Schedule staff based on forecasted volumes and create 100% resident satisfaction by training team members to maximize engagement and deliver best‑in‑class service.

Improve service through communication, coaching, and customer feedback, responding to and handling guest problems and complaints.

Lead team meetings, establish goals, solicit feedback, implement engagement strategies, ensure fair treatment, provide training, feedback, coaching, and counseling.

Preferred Qualifications

A.S. or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.

Extensive catering experience a plus.

High‑volume, complex foodservice operations experience – highly desirable.

Institutional and batch cooking experiences.

Hands‑on chef experience a must.

Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

Proficiency with computers – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, E‑mail, and Internet.

Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.

ServSafe certification – highly desirable.
