The Boeing Company is looking for a
B-52 Test & Evaluation Engineer (Flight/Mission/System Test)
to join our Bombers team at
Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), CA . This position supports developmental ground and flight testing of the B-52 Stratofortress programs. We work with the 419th Flight Test Squadron, the Global Power Bomber Combined Test Force (CTF), and other government and industry partners to improve the warfighting capabilities of the United States Air Force. The role focuses on test planning, execution, problem identification and resolution, data collection and analysis, and customer interaction in a fast‑paced team environment.
Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the second largest Air Force base. The Test Wing oversees day‑to‑day operations and supports over 10,000 personnel on a 481‑square‑mile installation. The 412th plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software, components, and modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. The mission has three core components: flying operations, maintenance, and engineering.
Position Responsibilities
Supports the development and verification of test methods
Develops detailed test procedures, instrumentation, and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact
Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
Uses analytical tools to verify the design
Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements
Reviews test data, including off‑nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
Presents test results internally
Archives data and reports
Trains others
Works under general direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test
3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution
1+ year of experience as a Test Conductor, Test Director and Lead Verification Engineer
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Level 4: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience supporting a military flight test program
Experience as a project focal or project lead
Experience with radar systems
A Secret U.S. Security Clearance that has been activated in the past 24 months
