Mental Health Support Specialists
to join the Residential Support Services program. You'll be working in a home-like setting, supporting adults who have experienced significant barriers in living due to symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders. Mental Health Support Specialist
daily responsibilities include interacting with persons served to socialize and build rapport, assisting individuals in meeting daily needs, and ensuring ongoing connections with community supports. You will be a key part of a person's care team, helping to implement treatment plans. We have 14 locations within Anoka, Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties. Hours:
Full-time: Evenings (Mon - Fri, Sun - Wed, Wed - Sat, or Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 4:00 pm - 12:00 am) Full-time: Weekends (Sat & Sun 8:00 am - 11:00 pm or 9 am - 12 am) Full-time: Days (Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 5:00 pm) Full-time: Overnights (Wed - Sat 11:45 pm - 8:30 am), 35 hours per week Duties:
Provide courteous and respectful care to all clients. Spend most of each shift interacting with clients, developing relationships, and conducting tasks related to client care. Monitor clients regularly as per care plans. Implement service and behavior plans, staying current on client's plans and case notes. Encourage and monitor treatment plan compliance. Utilize crisis assessment tools for suicidal and aggressive behavior. Identify individuals prone to behavior emergencies and recommend appropriate programming. Help defuse and de-escalate behavior emergencies. Assist residents with room cleaning, personal hygiene, and laundry. Support independent living skills: hygiene, housekeeping, budgeting, etc. Administer medications under supervision of the nurse. Inform staff when medications are low, order medications as needed, and update medication sheets. Develop weekly menus, do grocery shopping, and encourage client participation. Plan and coordinate recreational and social activities. Schedule client appointments and plan holiday activities and events. Contribute to staff meetings and treatment planning. Prepare, serve, and clean up meals following health standards. Assist in training new staff. Ensure facility security, supervise residents, and secure shift coverage. Participate in routine cleaning and light maintenance tasks. Transport clients in the community. Produce incident reports within 8 hours of events. Physical Functions:
Type frequently, drive frequently, sit often, stand occasionally, walk frequently, climb stairs, lift 40+ pounds.
