Assistant Attorney General – Civil Division (2025-02576)
At the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, we strive to provide quality legal services to state agencies to effect better outcomes for Wyoming citizens. The Office is seeking an attorney to join its Civil Division to provide legal advice and litigation services to multiple state agencies, including the Public Service Commission, Board of Nursing, Enterprise Technology Services, and licensing agencies. The attorney may also provide additional legal support, review agency rules, and review non‑profit dissolutions. Other duties shall be assigned to meet the goals of the Civil Division and the Attorney General’s Office.

Essential Functions
Analyze complicated legal and factual issues and present them clearly in written and oral form.
Review, respond to, and advise the agency on inquiries, complaints, and other communications.
Conduct legal research to provide day‑to‑day advice.
Present legal conclusions and advice in various formats, including documents, oral presentations, and formal and informal opinions.
Advise agency clients on relevant statutes and administrative procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree.
Knowledge of trial and appellate practice, administrative law, and civil procedure.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Additional Information Salary is commensurate with relevant legal experience. Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background investigation. This is an at‑will position. The attorney will be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Attorney General (Wyo. Stat. Ann. 9‑1‑608). FLSA: Exempt.
